After reading a packing list, weather reports, and talking to people who have visited this new part of the world many times, I have finally packed four bags with hopefully all I will need for the next 4 months. As a little back story on Australia for me, I created a poster on Tasmania when I was in second grade. Since that research, if it can be called that, was done I have suggested only 'Australia' when a family member asked where we should go on vacation. Needless to say, it hasn't happened until now that I finally get to go.
Please enjoy the following 4 months of my travels as they happen. The beginning with a group of School for Field Studies students in the rainforest of Queensland, Australia and the later part which has yet to be planned will be traveling the eastern coast with some inland excursions.
G'day mate! I hope you have safe travels to the land downunder. You will be "time traveling" you know, loosing a day that you can never get back. Although it really won't feel too much like time travel since it will take what feels like days and days to get there. Good news is, when you return it will be like Groundhog Day... you'll get to relive the same day all over again! I've only stayed 2 days at a time so I feel a bit discombobulated when I make the trip... really, time travel isn't all its cracked up to be. I'm a bit jealous I have to admit... Your adventure sound like a load-o-fun! I'm not sure how you're going to get any sliding in however. I guess that will just have to wait for your return. I'm looking forward to the blog posts and updates! Have a great time!
